Frequently asked questions
- What is the role of the School Development Department at CAIS?
Our department is responsible for carrying out internal and external communications to update our stakeholders on the latest developments of the school. We also seek resources and funding to support the development of the school. To achieve this, we foster and maintain mutually beneficial relationships between the school and its parents, alumni, staff, supporters and benefactors through events, communication programs, social media and publications.
- Why does School Development Department need to raise funds?
A fundamental reason behind our fund-raising needs is to support the construction cost of the New School Building Project. CAIS is a non-profit educational institution which receives no government funding. Our tuition income only meets the operational expenses of the school. In order to provide quality Christian education, we need to find additional financial resources to support the continuing needs of curriculum improvements.
- How can I donate to CAIS?
Christian Alliance International School accepts tax-deductible gifts in the form of checks. Please refer to the How to Give page for more details.
- Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes. Donations of HK$100 or more are tax-deductible under prevailing Hong Kong tax regime. Donation receipts will be issued to you after the end of each tax fiscal year for tax deduction purpose.
- Where will my donation be used?
The donation will be used to support the construction of the New School Building Project.
- Who oversees the use of donations?
The School’s governing body, Registered Management Committee (RMC) is accountable for overseeing the use of all donation incomes. Operation-wise, the Finance Department keeps track of all donation records. An external auditor is also employed to audit the financial statement, including all income and expenditures of the school.
