Christian Alliance International School (CAIS), a non-profit making company wholly owned by Kowloon Tong Church of the Chinese Christian and Missionary Alliance, invites applications for System Administrator.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall smooth and efficient running of the school’s infrastructure and its associated systems and applications, both locally and in the cloud. Handle system installation, upgrade, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, patching, and monitoring of information systems including but not limited to Microsoft AD, Microsoft 365, file server, VM platform and endpoints systems. Configure appropriate security settings and access permissions. Monitor and perform proper remedy actions to ensure the stability, reliability, security, and performance of the school’s infrastructure. Provide system backup, data restoration and disaster recovery support to ensure operation continuity and data integrity in the event of system failure. Participate in new system and application provisioning, integration, development, testing, training, and other support-related activities. Formulate documentation for administrative knowledge base articles and end-user guides. Create scripts for system automation and integration using PowerShell or other appropriate tools. Timely respond and handle urgent system support. Occasional work outside of normal office hours may be required for critical systems. Liaise and coordinate with internal users, vendors, and system integrators in implementing effective IT solutions. Evaluate and perform feasibility study on new technologies and platforms for improving school operation. Secondary support for network administration, LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi infrastructure operation and network monitoring. Assist in answering helpdesk tickets and providing general IT support to staff, students and parents as required. Any other ad hoc duties allocated by the ICT Team Lead or Deputy Head of School. Any other ad hoc duties as assigned. Reports to the Assistant IT Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent. At least 3 years’ experience of IT system administration in a Microsoft environment. Have solid experience in managing a Windows computer and server environment using tools such as Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), WSUS / SCCM, Microsoft Intune, VEEAM. Familiar with the Mac environment will be an added advantage. Have solid experience in managing the Microsoft 365 platform (Azure AD, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, SSO integration, etc). Proficient in using CLI, PowerShell or other scripting languages for managing Windows services, Microsoft 365 services and task automation. Basic networking knowledge such as Firewall, VLANs, routing, switching, IP addressing, Wi-Fi, etc. Experience in virtualization technologies is an advantage. Holder of vendor certificates (CCNA / Microsoft / etc) is an advantage. Good interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated, and attention to details. Passionate in learning new technologies and improve existing solutions. Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.
