Beyond the Classroom

Extracurricular activities make CAIS student life exciting. Students may select from a wide variety of options.

We invite you to learn more about the extracurricular activities highlighted below among others offered throughout our learning community.

At CAIS, we are passionate about sports, developing student leaders through athletics, and the discipline that comes through the training of the body and mind. Our philosophy of competition is to always play to win, but never at the cost of integrity or sportsmanship; we measure success in medals and trophies just as every other school and athlete does, but also through teamwork, respect, perseverance, sacrifice, and strive to honour our opponents and the referees.

Our fields of competition are increasingly yearly, and CAIS competes in soccer, basketball, track and field, cross-country, volleyball, swimming, and badminton in the Internationals School Sports Federation (ISSFHK) from U-12 to U-20. We also enter additional teams and solo athletes in table tennis, fencing, and other team and individual sports in the local schools league (HKSSF).

GID disciples students in their assurance of salvation and how to share the gospel, as well as providing opportunities for doing missions and service inside Hong Kong and on mission trips to China and within Asia.

This dedicated group meets weekly before school to pray for CAIS and our city. GID students are known for their creative presentations of the message of Christ through song, dance, testimony, and living out the good news.

The Social Justice Club (SJC) is a platform for students to serve their communities, and encourages them to develop the perspective of a Christian servant-leader.

This club has steadily grown since 2010, and has developed many branches of committed students and teachers, working in groups all throughout Hong Kong. Our teams can be seen providing warm meals to the homeless, serving in ministries to refugees and asylum seekers, providing activities in senior citizens’ homes, and working with children in hospitals and community centers.

CAIS’ SJC group opens their hearts, connects to the community and educates the school community about social issues. These students and teachers live out our mantra of being the best school for Hong Kong.

Students and teachers work on the yearbook team as a labour of love. In this year-long project, students are trained in photography, writing and editing, design layout and publishing to create a memorable keepsake for the school community.

Discovery Days is a compulsory high school program that provides quality learning experiences outside of the school environment that is grounded in, and extended from, our school mission. Discovery Days involve travel and activities within Hong Kong, other parts of Asia, and destinations beyond Asia. A diverse range of activities is planned, including exposure to the arts, outdoor adventure, cross-cultural learning, community service, technology and evangelism.
