Beyond the Classroom
Extracurricular activities make CAIS student life exciting. From an early age, students may select from a wide variety of options. We invite you to learn more about the extracurricular activities highlighted below among others offered throughout our learning community.
The CAIS community loves sports. Children and youth of all ages engage in intramural and competitive sport teams and activities, from basketball to football and from martial arts to swimming.
CAIS proudly competes in the International School Sports Federation of Hong Kong known as the ISSFHK. We field competitive teams in basketball, soccer, volleyball and track & field for boys and girls starting at the U12 level to U20 level. CAIS also participates in the Hong Kong Secondary Schools Federation (HKSSF) competing with many local schools in Hong Kong.
Glow In the Dark
Glow In the Dark (GID) is a student group seeking to shine a light in the darkness. The light they share is the good news of Jesus Christ. GID prepares interested students (Grade 9 and up) to share the gospel.
This dedicated group meets weekly to pray and practice sharing their faith. They also plan short term mission trips. The group creatively presents the message of Christ through song, dance, testimonies and presentations of the good news.
Social Justice Club
The Social Justice Club (SJC) helps students to develop leadership abilities while serving their fellow man. SJC provides warm meals to homeless individuals. They serve in ministries to refugees and connected with children with serious medical conditions in a local hospital.
The group opens their hearts, connects to the community and educates the school community about social issues. They contribute to a culture of compassion within the school.
Student Representative Council
The Student Representative Council (SRC) exists to develop student leadership skills and provide students with opportunities to plan and implement activities of benefit and interest to fellow students.
The SRC organizes student events and is responsible for various student centered projects. Offices include president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and public relations officer. In addition, room representatives provide input and feedback to the SRC from each class in Grades 7-12.
Voice of Lions
The Voice of Lions is an opportunity for our primary aged children to develop their choral abilities and create beautiful music together. Voice of Lions performs in concerts along with our school bands each year.
The Yearbook Club brings together students with creative writing, photography, layout and leadership talents and interests. The team makes history together as they grow closer and hone their skills, leading to a memorable record of each year at CAIS.
CAIS aims to provide students with welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning environments that respect diversity and foster a sense of belonging. Since there are opportunities of enrichment which are not within the scope of the daily curriculum, we aim to offer these through extracurricular activities from external service providers.
