Belle Li, a Junior Astronaut, at the 2017 U.S. Space Camp Program!

August 22, 2017

Belle, who will be attending Grade 6 this coming fall, got selected to be one of the Mass Mutual Junior Astronauts this past summer. It all started with her curiosity after reading a magazine about a space camp program in the US. It took her months of preparation and perseverance for the enrollment, selection competition to final interview before she got selected among thousands of students in Hong Kong. Belle shared with us her experience in the US Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama and the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and the excitement of experiencing the tumbling and spinning in the “Multi-axis Trainer” allowing her to know what is like to be weightless and free movement in space. She also had an opportunity to meet with two astronauts Mr. Robert L. Gibson and Mr. Samuel T. Durrance during her trip to the US and got to understand the life of an astronaut.
