A Visit from the Tencent Center for Innovative Education Cooperation

November 10, 2017

On October 27, 2017, Ms. Duola Ning, Director of Tencent Center for Innovative Education, and her team visited Christian Alliance International School and had a discussion with CAIS staff members and students. A team of six from the Chinese technology giant met with Mr. Clarence Chan, School Supervisor, Mr. Martin Lau, School Board Member, Dr. Cora Hui, Principal Cum Interim Head of School, Mr. Samuel Cheng, Principal Assistant and other school members. Dr. Hui presented our school mission, introduced the Alberta Education curriculum, and highlighted the development of the international school education sector in Hong Kong. Mr. Samuel Cheng introduced CAIS approach to digital learning, STEM education and future plans for school innovation.  In addition, two students from grades 10 and 12 shared their learning experiences in the school, speaking to our visitors in fluent Mandarin. Following the meeting, the Tencent representatives toured the new CAIS campus and marveled at the spacious and high-quality environment designed for experiential learning and immersive learning communities. This visit prompted a dialogue for further collaboration with the Tencent Innovative Education Cooperation Center, such as exchange activities and field trips to their headquarters. Their investment in cutting-edge digital technology aligns with our school goal of excellence in teaching and learning; we look forward to a fruitful working relationship with them in the near future.
